Okay, I moved in yesterday (well, day before time wise...basically on the 17th), and I've pretty much settled in here. I met my rommie the same day, and I really like her. She and I actually share a lot of the same interests, and it doesn't seem to bother either one of us if I'm on my comp and she's playing her DS. Talking doesn't seem to be a necessary thing, and the silence isn't awkward (though that may partially be b/c we are both doing something).

Anyway, I got back from First Night Carolina about an hour ago, and I did enjoy myself. Basically, it was a four hour event for Freshmen only. For the first two hours, we we're talked to and reminded that we did still have to stay focused and study. We also learned some cheers and songs along the way. The second two hours, though, were the best. There was basically a dance party (almost like at a club), and Steph (my rommie) and I danced for the whole two hours. It was really great.

Okay, now though, I'm totally wiped so I'll end this here by saying that I am enjoying myself and so far love it here!

Quote of the Post:
“The future is not a result of choices among alternative paths offered by the present, but a place that is created--created first in the mind and will, created next in activity. The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating.”

Leaving Tomorrow

Okay, I'm totally freaking out. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for SCU, and I'll be moving in about one tomorrow. I've pretty much finished packing (other than some of my electronic stuff that I'm not packing until the last minute).

I've said my goodbyes to those who I was able to today w/ my busy schedule (though I obviously didn't get to everyone). I went by and saw some of my old teachers because it was Open House today, and I also visited Carol once more before I left. Other than that, we've been running around doing last minute errands today (such as getting my hair trimmed again).

Now that everything has calmed down for a while, though, I am totally freaked out. I'm not even going to think about what is going to happen tomorrow and then Sunday when my parents leave.

Good thing, though, is that I'll be meeting my roommate tomorrow because she'll be moving in a day early as well (official move in is Saturday).

New Item

Quote of the Post
“Even though we've changed and we're all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we'll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we're not all still friends.”

He he he, it was officially my next to last day at work today until the winter. I worked 8 hours today, and I'm working 9 hours tomorrow. Thankfully, though, people I like are working at the same time that I am.

Oooooh, today I watched The Number 23, and it was awesome. I will have to watch it again just simply because I know that I missed something when I just watched it the first time. Though I did notice that his note to his wife had 23 words in it (if I counted correctly). I honestly did not really expect that ending until near the end of the movie, like right after he starts accusing his wife.

Other than watch that movie and work, I didn't do very much today. Don't know why I'm so tired besides that, though that tiredness helps to explain some of the randomness/incoherency which may or may not exist in this post.

Okay, I've just spent two whole days being busy. Obviously, I spent almost all of yesterday with Zach and (for half the time) my family.

Today, though, I spent a girls day out with my mother and grandmother because my brother and dad were at a boyscout camp until tomorrow. We spent the day shopping at various stores (including McKay's where I found 4 books and sold several others). We went by Kohl's to return some stuff, and at Target I found myself a body pillow for college.

Then we did the typical Chinese takeout thing, and we went home to watch the most recent remake of the film Zodiac. It is a very good film, by the way, if a bit long. I've also rented The Number 23 which I'm hoping to watch tomorrow. Though the whole family plans to see Rush Hour 3 tomorrow too (though that could technically be seen as later today).

Anyway, now I'm on the count down for the moving day. I'm leaving my house on Friday to move in on Friday or Saturday. I haven't even really begun seriously packing, though I've been thinking about what I'm bringing. I'll be meeting my roommate in person for the first time, though I've been talking to her off and on online. Basically, a whole new experience is coming for me.

    <lj:music>Music of the Night</lj:music>

Okay, it is officially Saturday, and Zach just left for work. We basically spent almost all day together yesterday and then he spent the night last night. We had to sleep on the couch in the living room while my mom was in the same room, but it was still fun.

I also got to give him some Neapolitan cupcakes...which are basically exactly what they sound like, chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry cupcakes with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and a cherry on top. That was my first time making them, and they actually turned out really well. I also bought some "wine" (a.k.a. sparkling grape juice because we're both under 21) for the occasion, and he really enjoyed the surprise.

We ended up watching 5ive Girls (an okay movie), Die Hard, and Bourne Identity before we passed out really late at night/really early morning.

Anyway, on a different note, I was given a site that you can download and/or watch some anime episodes on. The link is: tv-links.co.uk
Not all of the episodes will show, but it is still a cool site to watch for. Almost like stoptazmo.com is for manga.

This is the first entry that I've made. It is (technically) Friday, August 10th (b/c it is 1:19 at night). I guess I'll start with some of what is going on right now.

It is one week until I head off to South Carolina for college (scary thought right there) and two weeks until I start my first class. That is where I will finally meet my roommate Steph! I can't wait. I'm really nervous about it all, but I'm excited too.

Tonight, Zach is going to be able to spend the night at my house (for the 2nd time), though we will have to spend the night in the living room, it'll still be fun. I've got a surprise set up for him that I think he'll really enjoy!

Well, I guess that's all for now!

PS: This is technically not my first livejournal, but the other is more of a wishlist type thing to help my parents and relatives find gift I want during the holidays because they've had trouble with that before. It's http://andiyoshiko.livejournal.com/ if anyone is curious.
